Shane McAvinchey hails from Nenagh in Co. Tipperary Ireland and has been dancing since the age of 6yrs. Throughout his competitive career he has had success at many National and International events including regional, All Ireland, European and World Championships. His most notable competitive success winning the Munster championship and placing 4th at the Wolrd Championships on multiple occasions.
Since the age of 15 he has been performing on stages and TV throughout Europe, North / South America, Asia & Australia as both an Ensemble and Soloist dancer with such productions as "Riverdance - The Show", "The High Kings", "Dancing Thru The Ages", "Ragús" and has been invited to perform for dignitaries around the world including accompanying the Irish president on state visit to Luxembourg in 2009. He also made his theatrical debut as an actor in March 2012 in Munich.

Shane is a teacher (TRCG) / choreographer and co-directs the Tir na nOg Irish dance school and performance company which has locations in Munich / Kaiserslautern Germany and also across Poland & Russia. The school was recently featured in the feature length documentary movie "JIG" which had worldwide cinema release. 
He is the co-founder of Irish cultural and social network and learning platform which now has over 4.500 members worldwide. 

When Shane is not dancing he is currently completing a post-graduate diploma in Business management in Munich and hopes to someday complete an MBA. He has also recently made his acting debut in Munich and hopes to persue this new interest further in the future.
Shane has devoted his life to Irish dance and feels priviledged to be able to share his love for Irish dance with all those whom he teaches.
